To demonstrate my knowledge of evaluating existing research, I am providing three literature reviews from my undergraduate studies.
Recent Literature Reviews
- This literature review was a course assignment for CHEM 4420: Advanced Organic Chemistry Laboratory. I chose this paper because it uses a popular Suzuki-Miyaura catalyst that is shelf stable and can be used for select bulky amides and achieving high reaction yields which is important for organic chemistry synthesis.

- This literature review was a course assignment for CHEM 3020: Atmospheric Environmental Chemistry. I chose to highlight a paper regarding greener coal burning in China through the use of ultra-low emission retrofits on coal-fired power plants and how these retrofits affect mercury distribution and speciation in the atmosphere.
- This literature review was a course assignment for CMNS 2300: Critical Thinking and Writing for Science and Technology. Lochlan Scholefield and I chose to review the findings and limitations of using CRISPR and CRISPR-Cas9 to cure HIV, focusing on the current research aimed at improving the delivery system to the affected cells. This review was accompanied by a 20 minute presentation to disseminate the findings.
